Sushi Koala!

Filed under: Random, Sushi — Esther @ 12:45 pm

Okay, so I was recently sent this awesome photo and I need to know where I can find it!!!

Sushi Koala!

It’s my favorite food shaped like a koala! Can it get any better than that?!

GAHHHHH! I. WANT.

Uh Ohhh…

Sushi Kun better watch out. It looks like they might be on to him!

Spy

If you have absolutely no idea what I am talking about, you should check out Sushi Kun’s MySpace which can be located here (yes, my dog has a MySpace, so sue me ;-) ).

It’s super late right now and I’m having trouble sleeping so I thought I’d blog about Sushi. I found the image and it reminded me of him (and of Sir Carlton).

More Simpsons Fun

Filed under: Random, Humor, The Simpsons — Esther @ 10:32 am

Apparently you can now make yourself into a Simpsons character! How cool is that? My friend Oxy made me into a Simpsons character because I am somewhat artistically challenged (I had a terrible time trying to make myself into a South Park character and I knew this would be no different).

I think Oxy did a great job, don’t you?

Simpsons Character

I must say that the marketing for the new Simpsons Movie has been brilliant so far. From the opening of a dozen Kwik-E-Marts, to selling products like Buzz Cola and Squishees, to being able to make yourself into a Simpsons character, I am willing to bet that this movie is going to make a lot of money (and hopefully be quite entertaining as well).

I can’t wait to see it! :-D

Kwik-E-Mart Invasion!

Filed under: Random, Humor, The Simpsons — Esther @ 11:58 pm

Kwik-E-Mart

In honor of the new Simpsons movie, 7-Eleven Inc. has turned a dozen of its stores in to Kwik-E-Marts complete with such Simpsons products as Krusty-O’s and Buzz Cola. Alas, there isn’t any Duff Beer at the chosen locations because the movie is rated PG-13. But, you can find Squishees (the Simpsons equivalent to Slurpees).

I think this is a brilliant idea. I mean, what a great way to advertise the new Simpsons movie! I know I’ll be heading to the Kwik-E-Mart nearest to me very soon (what can I say, I’ve been a die-hard Simpsons fan for quite some times now).

I first learned about optical illusions back when I was in fifth grade and I have been fascinated by them ever since. I was reading a friend’s blog the other day when I came across this:

Follow the directions, then wait and see what happens…

P.S. I love animated gifs. Look at the dancing tiger!

After years of waiting, I have finally been turned into an anime character! What’s even better is that my friend was able to create my anime self as a koala girl!

Back In Beantown

Filed under: Life, Random — Esther @ 1:20 am

After seven hours of flying and waiting in airports, I have finally made it back to Boston. It’s just past 4am here, but I think my body is still on California time. It’s very strange not having Marc sleeping next to me. He always holds me and makes me feel so safe. It’s also strange not having any breathing pillows (Sir Carlton always ends up under my head for some odd reason) or feet-biting monsters (little Sushi Kun). I can’t remember the last time that Marc and I were apart from one another. It might have been during Christmas of ‘05…Wow, that was over a year and a half ago.

It’s good to be back home (yes, I still consider Boston my home). My room is exactly how I left it. I am greatly looking forward to getting together with old friends. In fact, I have already made plans to go to Mr. Sushi for dinner with a group of people while I’m here. Mr. Sushi is this incredible Japanese restaurant in Brookline. It is also where I was first introduced to sushi. Whenever I come back to Boston, I have to make a trip there.

There are a lot of things I want to do while I’m here. I’m hoping to go up to the Cape for some lobster and clam chowder (and maybe I’ll get to meet up with my friend Morgan whom I haven’t seen since graduation). I really want to try and catch a Red Sox game at Fenway too. It’s been years since I’ve seen the Green Monster, so I feel it’s high time I go again. I also need to buy a new cell phone (finally, my two years is up and I can upgrade). I know I’ll go to my favorite pre-bar eatery (Sunset Bar and Grill) and pub (The White Horse Tavern) with my sister. And I’ll hopefully find time to stop by my old high school to catch up with my favorite teachers.

I thought if I began writing I might start to get sleepy. And you know what? It seems to be working. Goodnight all! I’m sure I’ll update again soon.

Tag, You’re It!

Filed under: Random — Esther @ 12:52 pm

Debs tagged me. Woo.

Tagged! This is what you are supposed to do. Cut and paste if you decide to participate in the tagging game.

Each player of this game starts off by giving 6 weird things about themselves. People who get tagged need to write in a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state the rules clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names.

After you do that, leave them each a comment letting them know you tagged them and to read your blog.

1. I love eating raw pasta. Yes, you heard me correctly. RAW PASTA. It doesn’t really taste like anything, but there’s something about it that I really enjoy. I know that eating raw pasta is bad for you, but it’s sooooo good. I have recently switched to egg noodles because they are a bit softer and not as harsh on the teeth so at least I’m trying to be better about it.

2. I don’t like clumps of things. I know there is a specific term for this, but I can’t for the life of me remember what it is. For example, I get really grossed out if I see a clump of ants on the ground, or a clump of fish in the sea. Don’t even get me started on clumps of birds in the sky–let’s just say I have never seen the movie Birds and I don’t ever plan on seeing it! *shudders at the thought*.

3. I’ve never broken a bone. I almost broke my neck once when I fell off the balance beam doing a round-off back-handspring combo. I was really into gymnastics as a child until that one incident scared me away. I can wholeheartedly say that I will never set foot on a balance beam again.

4. I am an extremely ticklish person. When I was little, all a person had to do was pretended to tickle me by wiggling their fingers in front of my face, arms, or feet and I would fall down in a fit of laughter. I don’t do that anymore, but I still can’t bear it when people tickle me. It’s very hard for me to get pedicures because my feet are so ticklish that I often can’t sit still long enough to have my toes painted.

5. I swear I can crack every joint in my body–well, that’s probably not entirely true, but I bet I get pretty darn close. It’s disgusting and grosses people out, but I can’t help it. I can crack my neck, jaw, shoulders, arms, elbows, wrists, fingers, back, hips, chest, legs, knees, ankles, toes etc.

6. I have really sensitive ears so I can’t stand it when people sing off key. It doesn’t bother me if someone is completely tone-deaf, only when someone is just a little bit flat or sharp. It’s like they are alllllmost hitting the notes, but they can’t quite make it. Ugh, it’s like nails on a chalkboard for me (please don’t think I’m some kind of music snob now, because I swear I’m not!).

Now it’s time for me to tag six people. I’m too lazy to go to each person’s blog and let them know that they are tagged (I know, I’m not following the rules), so I hope the people I tag see this entry. I tag…

*drum roll please*

Marc, Howdy, Shark, Elysse, Oxy and SexyBeast. Doooooo it! Pretty please? :-D

Double-Vision

Filed under: Pets, Pomeranians, Sir. Carlton, Random, Photography — Esther @ 11:30 pm

More fun with Photo Booth on my MacBook Pro!

Here is Sir Carlton in double-vision:

Double Vision

(I wonder if drunk people see things this way…)

I’ve recently discovered that I really enjoy taking pictures. I’m constantly amazed by the photographers I work with and the art they create, and I’d love to learn even an ounce of what they know. I’ve also noticed that I’m usually the one who pulls out a camera and snaps a shot whenever I’m out with my friends. Wouldn’t it be fun to learn the more technical aspects of photography so the candid photos I take look even better?

I’m starting to think that I want to take a photography class. I’ve always been in front of the camera, so I think it would be really neat to be behind the camera for a change. There are some great courses offered at Santa Monica College and UCLA this summer, so if I can find the time I’d really like to take them. I know that I’d need a better camera first, but I’ve been looking on craigslist and you can find some great cameras for dirt cheap there.

What do you think? Do you think it’s silly that I want to try my hand at something new? Or do you think I should go for it?
