Encore Nouveau Boutique #1

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of shopping at my good friend Kathy Bailey’s new store, Encore Nouveau Boutique, in Sunland, CA (right outside Los Angeles). I couldn’t believe how many amazing things she had there (and at such incredible prices!). I must’ve walked out of there with at least seven new outfits (all top name brands) and I spent next to nothing. Her partner, Sharon Johnston, designs some of the most beautiful jewlerey that I have ever seen and it, too, can be purchased at Encore Nouveau.

I think one of the nicest things about this boutique is that Kathy and Sharon both make the customer feel so welcomed and both personally make a point to help pick out the perfect outfits and accessories for each person who walks in their door.

If you are a fashionista like me who is always looking for the newest styles at amazing prices, or you’re someone who wants to spruce up your wardrobe, Encore Nouveau Boutique is the place for you! I can’t rave enough about this new gem! :-D

Quarterlife.com

A friend of mine has been working on this site, Quarterlife for the past couple of months, and I was just informed that people can join it now. It is such a neat site and I think everyone should check it out!

The creators have this to say about it:

Welcome to Quarterlife, A new community for artists, thinkers, and doers –- and a new Internet series from Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick, the creative minds behind “My So-Called Life” and “Blood Diamond.”

Come in, check out the site, set-up a profile, and invite your friends to be a part of this new creative community. And be sure to come back on November 12th to see the premiere of the quarterlife series.

Basically, this is a site geared towards creative-minded people where they can upload their portfolio, videos, music etc. As an aspiring actress, I think this is an excellent way for me to network and meet more people like me. I know there are so many different online communities to belong to nowadays, but if you are a creative person and you want a place to showcase your work and meet like-minded individuals than this is definetly the place for you!

Oh, and feel free to add me HERE if you do end up joining!

Nordstrom’s/InStyle’s VIP Fashion Party

Filed under: Life, Fashion — Esther @ 12:22 pm

Event at Boulevard3

Last night, Debs invited Marc, my sister and me to this neat event at Boulevard3 where certain designers showcased their newest fashion lines. It was put on by Nordstrom and InStyle magazine.

We all had so much fun! I met some wonderful people (including the oh-so-talented Meghan of Meghan Fabulous, who, might I add, designs the cutest clothing ever!) and had a blast listening to the musical stylings of DJ Steve Aoki. To top everything off, the drinks and hors d’oeuvres were delicious.

Here I am with Debs at the entrance to Boulevard3.

And here I am with Marc.

Here I am right inside the venue.

Inside Boulevard3

You can’t really see it in this photo, but there were candles surrounding the fireplace (behind me) and it looked beautiful.

Here is DJ Steve Aoki spinning some tunes.

I really liked everything that was on display, but I fell head-over-heels in love with this one dress by Meghan Fabulous (called Flower Coat, I think?). So, I had to try it on.

Debs, Me and Jeffrey

Debs and Jeffrey (an amazing stylist from Nordstrom’s) made sure the dress looked perfect. I really think I might have to purchase it, it’s that lovely!

As I’m sure you can see, a fantastic night was had by all!

Help, I Need Your Advice!

Filed under: Life, Fashion, Shoes — Esther @ 1:05 pm

In a couple of weeks, I’ll be attending my friend Jamie’s wedding. I found a wonderful dress at Betsey Johnson, but I have yet to find shoes to go with it.

Here is the dress:

Dress 2

I chose this dress because I think it is simply perfect for a spring/summer wedding and I often find that the color yellow compliments my skin tone quite nicely. I also love how playful this particular dress is (it reminds me of the party dresses I used to have as a child, only those were pink!).

Any suggestions on shoes would be greatly appreciated. I am thinking that white shoes would be best, and I don’t really care whether they are open or closed toe. My friend Debs helped me pick out some shoes on the internet this past weekend, but when I went to see them at the store(s) on Sunday, they either didn’t have my size, or they didn’t have them at all.

So, let me know what you think and feel free to post links to the shoes that you find too.

Thank you so much for your help!
